TRAVELLING TO OTTAWA

October is a beautiful month in Ottawa. We hope you will be able to stay over the weekend and enjoy our beautiful city in its fall colours!
Expect temperatures of about 15C during the day and night temperatures approaching freezing. Although we will try hard to arrange sunny weather, bring an umbrella, just in case!

Travelling to Ottawa

By air:  Our airport is the Ottawa International Airport, airport code YOW.  There is shuttle service to downtown hotels from the airport, which is about 25 minutes south of downtown.

By train:  Ottawa has two train stations. The main station is just east of downtown (about a 10 minute drive from the Bronson Centre), with another smaller station at Fallowfield, in the suburb of Barrhaven, about 25 minutes from the Bronson Centre.

By car:  Ottawa is on the Trans-Canada Highway, which is the 417 or "The Queensway" within the city.  The 417 connects with the 401 via the 416 (this junction is East of Brockville, and West of Cornwall).

The US/Canada border crossings closest to Ottawa are:

Thousand Islands Bridge – between Alexandria Bay NY (Wellesley Island), on Interstate 81, and Lansdowne (Hill Island), on Hwy 137 (then travel East on the 401, and North on the 416)

Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge – between Johnstown NY, on NY 812, and Ogdensburg, on Hwy 16 (then travel East on the 401, and North on the 416)

Seaway International Bridge (Three Nations Crossing) – between Massena NY (Rooseveltown) on NY 37 and Cornwall, on Hwy 138 (continue North on the 138, then West on the 417).
